Creativity
Designers, musicians, engineers, craftspeople, writers, tinkerers — Eindhoven is full of people who make things. We match creative minds with unexpected collaborators so new ideas can find form.
A fruitbody of The Octopus Movement
Innovation doesn't begin in labs. It begins when different minds, cultures and ways of thinking meet. Project Eindhoven connects 1,000 people across languages, backgrounds and neurotypes — ten conversations at a time.

Real Eindhoven · real coffee · real conversations.
🎉 When we hit 1,000 conversations, we're throwing a party in Eindhoven.
Why Eindhoven
Eindhoven is a city of roughly 250,000 people in the south of the Netherlands. Not a coastal trading capital. Not Amsterdam. Not Rotterdam. It gave the world Philips. It is where ASML was born. And in 2024, WIPO ranked Eindhoven 3rd in the world for science-and-technology cluster intensity, behind only Cambridge and San Jose–San Francisco. That is the real story: not a giant city, not a historic global port, but a small nonlinear ecosystem where technology, industry, research, and human talent found each other.
Without what this city built, there are no advanced chips, no AI, and no modern smartphone. But its real engine is not technology. It is culture: the collision of Dutch pragmatism, international talent, creative craft and every imaginable way of thinking.
Culture is the infrastructure of innovation. We start here.
Three cultures of connection
Innovation happens at the edge of cultures. We design matches across three edges — because Eindhoven's magic is in the mixing.
Dutch Eindhovenaren meeting across neighborhoods, generations and bubbles — strengthening the local fabric that everything else grows from.
The brilliant international community of Eindhoven — Brazilians, Indians, Poles, Iranians, Americans and dozens more — sharing stories across borders.
Where local and global meet. These are the conversations that integrate a city — and where unexpected ideas are born.
Where we meet
Strijp-S, Ketelhuisplein, Centraal, your favourite corner in Woensel — wherever you'd actually want to spend a Sunday morning.

What we protect
Real connection happens when we honour three kinds of culture at once.
Designers, musicians, engineers, craftspeople, writers, tinkerers — Eindhoven is full of people who make things. We match creative minds with unexpected collaborators so new ideas can find form.
From Dutch directness to Brazilian warmth, from Indian hospitality to German precision — every country carries different rules for trust, humour and belonging. We make space for those differences to become bridges.
Neurodiversity is a culture too. Different minds notice different patterns, solve problems differently, and bring wholly different gifts to a conversation. We welcome ADHD, autism, dyslexia and every beautiful way of thinking.
When these three cultures mix, innovation stops being a buzzword and becomes a habit.

Little dispatches from the mycelium — the moments where two strangers stop being strangers.
Sanne (Strijp-S) & Bram (Tongelre)
They grew up 4 km apart and never met. One coffee at Piet Hein Eek became a Sunday repair café habit — and a plan to fix half of Tongelre's broken bikes.
Marco (Centrum) & Kenji (Eckart)
They expected small talk. They got a four-hour conversation about industrial design, bossa nova and why Eindhoven feels like home in a way neither of their home cities do.
Priya (Woensel) & a local Eindhovenaar
A Stadswandeling, a shared interest in climate, and a vacant patch behind the flat. Six months later: tomatoes, neighbours, a WhatsApp group of 38 people.

About us
Project Eindhoven is a small group of Eindhovenaren — Dutch and international, neurotypical and neurodivergent, makers and thinkers — who believe the city's next breakthrough won't come from more hardware. It will come from deeper connection.
We're a fruitbody of The Octopus Movement: a worldwide, non-profit human mycelium of people growing connection underneath the surface of cities. The Octopus Movement has helped tens of thousands of people meet across more than 100 countries. Now it's Eindhoven's turn.
Our promise is simple: we match you with ten humans you'd probably never meet otherwise — across creativity, country culture and ways of thinking. The coffees are free, fully sponsored by Stichting the Octopus Movement Foundation. No swiping. No networking. Just ten honest conversations that make the city feel like home for more of us.
We start in Eindhoven. Then, with you, we do it everywhere. 🐙
The bigger picture
Project Eindhoven is one fruitbody of The Octopus Movement's Human Mycelium — a quiet, worldwide network of people growing connection underneath the surface of cities. We start here. Then we do it everywhere.
Be one of the first thousand. We'll open matchmaking as soon as the mycelium is dense enough to find you a great first match.
